Archer approved to do light training after hand surgery

England's experienced fast bowler Jofra Archer has been approved by his doctors to begin light training after surgery. Archer underwent surgery on his right hand on March 29. Archer also suffered from a right shoulder injury during the recent India tour. As of now, no decision has been taken on Archer to start playing.

The England and Wales Cricket Board said on Tuesday, "Archer will begin light training this week with coordination from the medical teams of Sussex and England cricket team." It is expected that he will be able to increase the pace in his bowling from next week. After his resumption of bowling, he will be provided with an update on his elbow injury, assessing the impact of the recent injections. "According to the ECB, he arrived in India for the Test series against India in January 2021. Just before, Archer's hand was cut off while cleaning the house. His injury was being supervised by the ECB's medical team during his visit to India and this did not affect his test availability.
