The Indian women's cricket team will play a Test match against England after almost seven years. Three ODIs and three T20 matches will also be played between the two teams after the only Test from 16 to 19 June at the Bristol County ground in England.
England will then host New Zealand and play three T20s and five ODIs against them. Coincidentally, in March this year, Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jai Shah announced through a tweet that this year the Indian women's cricket team will once again face England in a Test match.
It is noteworthy that this will be the first time since 2014, when England and India will play a Test match against each other. India has not played this format of cricket since a Test against South Africa in 2014, while England played a Test in the 2019 Ashes which was its last Test.
England and Wales Cricket Board CEO Tom Harrison said, "We are really looking forward to a busy summer season which is a big season for our England women's team." We are very excited to host India and New Zealand. Both these international series will be held before and after 'The Hundred' tournament. In addition, the Rachel Hehoe Flint Trophy tournament during the summer and the new regional T20 competition is included in our fixtures list which offers a lot for both our players and fans. "
"In view of the ICC Women's World Cup 2022, it is of paramount importance that our England team be able to prepare accordingly," said Harrison. With the women's team touring Pakistan in October, we are witnessing an exciting 12 months of international women's cricket. "
It is notable that the Test will be played between India and England in Bristol from 16 to 19 June. After this, the first, second and third ODIs will be played on 27, 30 and 3 July respectively and then the T20 series will begin on July 9 in Northampton. The second and third T20 match will be played on 11 and 15 July.
On the other hand, England will begin the limited overs series against New Zealand with the first T20 match at Chelmsford on 1 September. Four will be played on the second and the third T20 match on September 9. After this, a five-match ODI series will begin on 16 September between England and New Zealand in Bristol. The second match of the series will be played on 19, third 21, fourth 23 and fifth on 26 September.
