Rajasthan defeated by Sanju Samson's brilliant century, won Punjab

Despite their captain Sanju Samson's brilliant innings of 119 runs, Rajasthan Royals suffered a close defeat by four runs in the IPL match against Punjab Kings on Monday. Punjab scored a massive 221 runs for six wickets in 20 overs at the Wankhede Stadium thanks to skipper Lokesh Rahul (91) and Deepak Hooda (64).

Rajasthan chased this big target on Samson's century innings but Samson was caught on the boundary by Deepak Hooda in an attempt to blow a six off the last ball and Rajasthan lost. Samson set the record for the highest score as a captain in his first match of captaincy but could not win the team. Samson hit 12 fours and seven sixes in 119 runs off just 63 balls.
